Purbasha's roots run to a family rice mill started in 1981. The modern company, Purbasha Trading, was founded in 2014 and today spans food, commodities, trade, logistics, and new ventures in energy and property.
Our story
It started with a mill town.
Ishwardi, in Pabna, has fed this country for generations. It's a rail junction, a rice district, and the kind of place where a business either earns trust or doesn't survive. Purbasha was built there.
The story began in 1981, when Nazrul Islam started the family's rice-milling business, building an enduring base of agricultural knowledge and commercial relationships.
In 2014 that heritage became Purbasha Trading, with a simple proposition: source honestly, manufacture cleanly, deliver on time. It was enough to earn the confidence of Bangladesh's largest consumer companies, and then of buyers in Dubai, Tokyo, and beyond.
The proposition hasn't changed. Only the scale has.

Timeline
How we got here.
1981
Nazrul Islam begins the family's rice-milling business in Pabna, establishing an enduring base of agricultural knowledge and commercial relationships.
2014
Purbasha Trading is established, entering commodity procurement and distribution: paddy, rice, maize, and related agricultural products.
2017
International sourcing begins: parboiled and basmati rice, maize, DDGS, DORB, poultry meal, and other food and feed ingredients.
2022
Purbasha Organic Food & Beverage Limited and Anabya Food Stuff Trading Co. LLC (Dubai) are established, adding manufacturing and an international platform.
2026
Purbasha enters WFP-supported retail operations in Ukhia, Cox's Bazar, expands fresh-produce imports and wholesale distribution, and begins developing new ventures in energy, mobility, and property.
